About Romeo and Juliet

Romeo and Juliet

The story of Romeo and Juliet is about the two star-crossed lovers from two fueding families. Romeo and Juliet meet at a ball and get secretly married the day after. After Romeo is banished from Verona for killing Tybalt he learns of Juliet's death and kills himself. Shortly afrter Juliet wakes up from a fake death to find Romeo dead and kills herself. Thus ending the fued between the families.

Romeo is the son of Lord Montague and Lady Montague. He lives in the middle of a feud between his family and the Capulet family. At the beginning of the play he is not interested in the violence he is only interested in Rosaline. Rosaline is the girl that he is in love with at the beginning of the play, but once he sees Juliet at the Capulet's Ball he falls in love with her and forgets about Rosaline. Romeo goes to extremes to prove how real his feelings are for Juliet. He secretly marries Juliet; he happily takes trash talk from Tybalt; and he would rather die than live without Juliet.

Juliet is the daughter of Lord Capulet and Lady Capulet. Juliet begins the play as a innocent child who has thought little about love and marriage, but she grows up quickly upon falling in love with Romeo, the son of her family’s great enemy. Juliet has none of the freedom Romeo has to roam around the city, climb over walls in the middle of the night, or get into swordfights. Regardless, she shows amazing courage in trusting her entire life and future to Romeo, even refusing to believe the worst reports about him after he gets involved in a fight with her cousin.
